The Azure Bakery series: Introduction

Welcome to The Azure Bakery. I’ll show you how to bake your delicious Azure cake in this series.

This series aims to approach Azure in an easy-to-understand and fun way. The goal is to engineer and deploy solutions in the best way possible. At the same time, we’re trying to keep it simple.

Layers

We’ll go through the foundational layers of every solution you may want to build in the future. What ingredients do you need when building these solutions?

The cake will be built up from the following layers:

• Azure Active Directory
• Management groups
• Subscriptions
• Resource groups
• Resources

Combining these layers will result in our Azure cake. We’ll start from the bottom, going through the first layer, Azure Active Directory. And work our way through every layer, all the way to the top.

With the last layer, we’ll add resources to the ingredients of all previous layers. With these resources, the layers of the cake come together, making it ready to serve!
